Rob Doyle (1959) is a musician and tutor born and educated in London.

Working with students in primary, secondary, and tertiary education since 1991, a lifelong interest in making music with students of all ages and abilities continues to inspire an inclusive and interdisciplinary approach to teaching.

A guitarist by trade, Rob’s playing has led to tours of Europe and Japan, as well as work in theatre, television, and education. Interests in theoretical and applied practical research developed during postgraduate study at Middlesex and Brunel universities continue to focus on the exploration of soundscape techniques.

Rob’s primary musical interest lies in the exploration of tempomorphic soundscape techniques. Emergent processes have been defined as ‘tempomorphics’ (literally ‘time-changing’), for which he was awarded a PhD in 2005. An interest in the work of Davey Graham and Robert Fripp continues.

Rob lives with his family in Broadstairs, and works in and around Kent and the South East. By night he and his wife Eda front the rock band Dr Rob & the Radi8ors.
